Group UCInetIDs

What is a Group UCInetID used for?
A Group UCInetID is used for:
- A second UCInetID for a current UCI faculty, staff, or graduate student.
- For departmental use, when the department wants a descriptive email address, for example, nacs@uci.edu.
- A shared UCInetID to be used by more than one person affiliated with UCI for UCI purposes.
What is the cost of a Group UCInetID?
A Group UCInetID comes with an email account on OIT Mailbox Services and is charged $5 per month via departmental recharge.
How can I request a Group UCInetID?
Fill out the Group UCInetID Request Form. (Login Required). You will need following information:
- The sponsor's UCInetID and password to login to the form.
- 3 - 8 character name for the Group UCInetID
- Description of how the Group UCInetID will be used
- Bookkeeper's name
- Recharge Number
- ZOT Code
The Group UCInetID must have a sponsor who is faculty or staff at UCI. The sponsor is responsible for activating the Group UCInetID using his or her own UCInetID, birth date, and Social Security Number. During the activation process, the sponsor chooses a password to be given to the members of the group.
The sponsor is also responsible for insuring that the UCInetID and associated email account are used in accordance with University policies, including the Computer Use Policy.
