The Workshops and Seminars coordinated by Network and Academic Computing Services (NACS) are open to all UCI Faculty, TA's, Graduate Students and Staff. Some workshops are free while others are outsourced through private training companies and require payment by the home departments. NACS is part of a collaborative partnership that comprises The Electronic Educational Environment (EEE), through which training is also offered.

Webfiles Internet Storage for Faculty, Staff & Grad Students - Beginner's Workshop

Webfiles is a file storage system provided by Network & Academic Computing Services (NACS) to faculty, staff, and graduate students. Webfiles is a system which provides 1 Gigabyte of disk space and allows you to store copies of important electronic documents (notes, papers, theses, graphics, photos, etc.) using a familiar Web interface. In addition to storing private files, you may also use this space to share files with others.

OracleCalendar - Beginner's Workshop

Oracle Calendar (formerly Corporate Time) is an online calendar service for faculty and staff.
Electronic calendaring lets you navigate through your agenda, block off time for meetings, schedule conference rooms, invite attendees, manage tasks, print your own customized calendar pages, and more In this workshop, you will learn how to manage your calendar from your computer desktop so that you can begin working with the software comfortably and effectively.Individuals must have an Oracle Calendar account. To acquire one, contact your local departmental computing support coordinator (CSC).
Training at New Horizons
For UCI staff interested in off-site training, New Horizons Learning Center is one option. New Horizons offers classes in all the primary office productivity software that is commonly installed on campus computers and many departments have utilized this local company. You may wish to look at the complete list on the New Horizons website. Their site also provides course outlines so that you can see what content each course covers.
New Horizons has a convenient location in Orange, just down the street from UCIMC. Most classes are one or two days. Graphics and web design courses are also offered by New Horizons. Contact New Horizons for more information and rates for UCI.Web Based Training
CREN TechTalk: These are free, archived audio Webcasts on topics relevant to networking and information technology for the IT professionals at UCI. TechTalk audio events require an MP3 player. You can download Microsoft Windows Media Player free-of-charge (Macintosh or Windows versions available).
