Summary:
Updated shadow-utils package includes laus logging feature
An updated shadow-utils package that adds laus auditing is now available.
Description:
The shadow-utils package includes the necessary programs for converting
UNIX password files to the shadow password format, and includes programs
for managing user and group accounts as well.
The following programs from this package now generate laus auditing
records when laus is installed and auditing is enabled:
- groupadd
- usermod
- chage
- groupdel
- useradd
- gpasswd
- groupmod
- userdel
A prior version of this package did not audit transactions involving group
and password changes. Specifically, those beyond the level of the system
calls that open and close files. These changes provide audit records which
more clearly convey user intent for these programs.
All users of shadow-utils should upgrade to this updated package, which
includes this feature.
