Netscape Main Configuration Options --- WWW Browser
- Start Browser with an internal (departmental or campus) "Home Page",
not vendor supplied one.
- Must be able to save and restore one's own bookmarks/hotlist to/from
local hard disk or floppy. Setting, saving and restoring one's own
preferences is desirable, but one MUST be able to easily get
the local default preferences and an empty bookmark/hotlist.
(Such preferences on Netscape should have directory bar turned off?)
- Configured to properly handle telnet, news, and e-mail URLs
- Configured directly or via helper apps to handle images (gif and
jpeg),
video (mpeg), and sound (.au at a minimum).
- Configured to print to an appropriate local printer.
- Configured with "reasonable" (i.e., "LARGE") cache on local hard
drive and memory cache.
MS Word Main Configuration Options
- Configured to print to an appropriate local printer.
- Must be able to save and restore one's document on disk/diskette.
MS Excel Main Configuration Options

- Must be able to save and restore one's document on disk/diskette.
MS Powerpoint Main Configuration Options
- Configured to print to an appropriate local printer.
- Must be able to save and restore one's document on disk/diskette.
- List of implementation issues, limitations and problems
- The list is dynamic (upgrades ...)
