Parking
Parking is available on campus. If you have a staff or faculty permit parking permit for your campus, UCI will honor it. Make sure it is visible and park in general parking (do not park in an AR reserved spot!).
If you forget your permit or do not have one, parking permits are available at the booth at the Anteater drive entrance to the Engineering parking structure. The permits cost $7 and an attendant will be there starting around 8:15am.
The closest parking is available in the new Engineering parking structure where lot 18c is marked on the map. The entrance is on East Peltason Dr where the "Southern Radial" meets East Peltason (Southern Radial is now Anteater Drive). You will be entering the structure on level 3. Try to park on Level 1 or 2 (level 2 has some AR spots so be careful where you park).
Exit via the stairs on the north side (facing Middle Earth housing) of the structure and walk to the service road behind buildings 323 and 321. Take the service road back to Peltason and enter Engineering Gateway through the doors marked "Network and Academic Computing Services". Take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Room 3161 is at the end of the hallway across the atrium when you get off the elevator.

Here is a list of hotels in the area (most are near the airport). They offer Internet access, but you should check to see if it is in-room access if that is important to you.
Note: Many of the larger hotel chains offer discounted rates for government employees. Check with the hotel when making your reservation. You will need to bring your University ID card.
