Monday November 23rd, 2009 » Fall Quarter, Week 9
Summary: Faculty and Staff UCInetIDs are available to current employees only. Read the information below to find out about the deletion policy and how it affects you.
If you are separating from the university, your UCInetID will be deleted based on information we receive from the UCI Payroll department. Your UCInetID is created when your name first appears in the daily data feed NACS receives from Payroll.
If you are retiring from the university, you can keep your UCInetID and an email address. See the retiree information below.
When your UCInetID is deleted, you will no longer have access to your NACS Mailbox email or other UCInetID related services. All materials associated with your UCInetID, including email will be deleted as well. Email forwarding is available for 6 months by sending in a request to postmaster@uci.edu. If you will continue at UCI as a student, your status will return to student after 60 days. You will not lose your UCInetID, but your quota will be lowered to the student level.
However, the new UCInetID and its associated services are entirely new. You will need to activate the UCInetID.
If you are a retiring academic given Emeritus status, your UCInetID will not be deleted. If you receive a deletion notice, but are an Emeritus, please contact postmaster@uci.edu. We may not have the information of your status yet.
UCI retirees may keep their UCInetIDs and keep or obtain a NACS MailBox email address. This benefit will make it easier for you to keep those contacts that you have enjoyed here at UCI as well as receive notices regarding upcoming information sessions and events.
You need to contact the Center for Emeriti and Retirees to set up this continuing service.
