NACS Mailing Lists

Summary: We maintain the following mailing lists to keep the UCI community informed about system and network enhancements, outages, and general developments. We also facilitate discussions with additional mailing lists on topics relevant to the campus computing and network community.

Lists are provided using the Mailman system. The "subscribe" button on each list below provides an easy way to have your e-mail address placed on lists of interest to you.

NACS General Interest Lists

NACS-News
NACSNews is an announcement list that sends out an electronic newsletter monthly to subscribers. NACS News is also available via the Web.
NACS-Seminars
This list is for announcing faculty and staff computer training workshops and seminars presented or coordinated by NACS. Information and sign up forms for the upcoming seminars and training workshops are also available at: http://www.nacs.uci.edu/training/
Network-Security-Alerts
This list will be used by NACS to distribute security alerts, patch notifications, and lists of hosts that may need to be patched to prevent successful compromises. Currently this list is moderated; any replies sent to the list will be forwarded to the list owners rather than posted to the list.
UCInet-Announce
This list is used to send out UCI Network Announcements.
UCICSCG
This list facilitates discussion among computing support professionals at UCI. General and specific queries are welcome. Computing-related emergency messages and notices of planned downtime may also be posted to this list.

NACS Special Interest Lists

EEE-Anounce
Announcements about changes and enhancements to the Electronic Educational Environment Web site.
DCSLib-Announce
This list is used to send out announcements of all DCSLIB changes.
Research-Computing
Announcements and discussion on high-performance computing, research software, and research computing support.
UCINET-Wireless
Ongoing discussions and announcements regarding UCInet Mobile Access and wireless connectivity on campus.
Web-Developers
People from around campus involved in developing Web site and Web applications.
Webauth-Announce
This list is to send announcements about the WebAuth solution provided by NACS. This is a moderated list and is not intended for discussion, solely announcements about changes with WebAuth.
800 MHz Radio
This list is used to discuss issues regarding the Campus 800Mhz Trunked Radio System. Notifications of system outages, upgrades, etc. will also be posted here.

UCI-Mathematica
Information pertinent to licensing of Mathematica on the UCI campus will be disseminated to users via this list.

Discussions of webmail services within the UC system.
UCCSC
UC wide Computing Support Coordinators list. This list is used mainly to distribute information about the annual UCCSC conference. It is also a discussion list that can help facilitate communication about computing support at the UC campuses.
