Removing the UCI Proxy Server on a Macintosh

Summary: If you have been using the Web Proxy Server, use the directions below to remove the settings from your browser. You should be using VPN in place of the Proxy to access UCI restricted resources. See "Related Information".

Netscape 7.0 (OS X)

  1. From the Netscape menu, choose Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences Window, click on the triangle next to Advanced to display the Advanced Options.
  3. Select Proxies under Advanced.
  4. In the Proxies window, select the Direct connection to the Internet radio button.
  5. Click OK.

OS 10.3 (Panther)

  1. From the Apple Menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Select the Network icon.
  3. Select your connection method and click the Configure button.
  4. Click the Proxies tab.
  5. In the "Select a proxy server to configure" window, make sure"Automatic Proxy Configuration" is unchecked.
  6. Click the Apply Now button.
