Summary: Network & Academic Computing Services (NACS) provides telephone, network, and computing services in support of research, administration, and UCI's Electronic Educational Environment. NACS provides central computing services, computer laboratories, departmental support services, and campus-wide technical coordination.
Applicants must be registered as full-time or part-time undergraduate UCI students.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
* Strong computer programming skills.
* Ability and desire to learn new technologies.
* Familiarity with scripting programming languages (eg PERL, PHP, Ruby, etc).
* Familiarity with UNIX Systems (Linux, FreeBSD, etc).
* Familiarity with database systems (MySQL Postgres, etc).
* Good writing and communication skills are essential.
* Applicants must be registered as full-time or part-time undergraduate UCI students.
* Final candidate subject to a background check.
Position Description:
Work with experienced system administrators and programmers in building and maintaining web applications and tools to administer systems. Use a wide variety of scripting languages within a Unix environment in carrying out duties. Other duties as assigned. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
