Alumni Email Forwarding
All 2007 graduates now have the opportunity to set up a permanent "UCInetID@alumni.uci.edu" email address that will forward your alumni email to an address of your choice. Please note, this is only an email forwarding service, not an email account.
The service is provided by UCI at no cost to you – it does not require membership in the UCI Alumni Association. It’s a great way for you to stay connected with the university, friends and colleagues, and to show your Anteater pride.
To set up your @alumni.uci.edu address, visit:
http://signup.alumni.uci.edu (UCInetID Login Required)
The address you register can be an email account provided by any commercial or public email service such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, or your home Internet Service Provider.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Will I keep my current UCInetID?
- You will retain your current UCInetID indefinitely for use in accessing UCI services. This provides continued access to the NACS wireless network when on the UCI campus and access to the Registrar's StudentAccess service so that you can retrieve your grades and transcripts. Other services will be added in the future.
- Will I get to keep my NACS MailBox account?
- Yes, but only for a period of one year after you graduate. At that point it will stop working.
- When will my @UCI.EDU email address stop working?
-
- ONE YEAR: Generally speaking, you have one year to transition to your new @alumni.uci.edu account. If you do nothing, your @UCI.edu email delivery will stop working when your NACS mailbox account is terminated, after one year.
TWO YEARS: If you provide an alternate email delivery address through our "PhUpdate" web page, your email delivery will continue to work for an additional year, for a total of two years.
- After I sign up for @alumni.uci.edu, will my @uci.edu email account be terminated?
- No, it will continue to work for up to two years, see above.
- What services will I have access to after I graduate?
- For up to two quarters, graduates will be able to access everything they have access to currently. After two quarters, graduates will be considered "former students" and will only have access to applications that provide services to former students.
Right now, the only service available to former students (besides NACS Mailbox services for one year after graduation) is the Registrar's StudentAccess application.
- Will I have access to the UCI wireless network after I graduate?
- Once you sign up for your @alumni.uci.edu email forwarding service, you will be able to sign on to the UCInet mobile access.
