Summary: NACS provides computing services to the University of California, Irvine campus in support of instruction and research. This includes EEE, computer labs and research computing support.

Instructional Computing

EEE: Electronic Educational Environment

EEE provides Web based course tools, including:

  • Web based course administration tools
  • Web based solutions for increasing student access to materials
  • E-mail tools for enhancing discussion and communication
  • Faculty workshops in the development of course applications
  • Student training in using EEE tools

Computer Labs

NACS provides instructional, training and drop in computer labs across campus for educational purposes. Instructional labs are available for class use by all courses in the Schedule of Classes. The training lab is available for faculty and staff training.

Research Computing

Research Computing Support (RCS) is available to all members of the UCI research community (faculty, staff, students) to promote awareness of and provide assistance with campus information technology resources as they facilitate scholarly research.

Distributed Computing Support

NACS provides fee based UNIX support via Distributed Computing Support (DCS) services. This includes system administration, backup services, security advice, web development and hosting, and a software library.
